Alpha
The Minimum and Maximum values control the overall alpha value used when painting. If the two values are different, a random value between the two will be generated each rendering cycle. A setting at maximum alpha will produce the following:

The Density controls the precentage of the bristle's pixels that are actually rendered. A low density setting produces the following output:
The Threshhold value determines that minimum alpha value that will be allowed for each pixel. If the Threshhold value is higher than the values used for Minimum and Maximum, it will override these values.
The Feather Edges value determines how far from the edge of the bristle's bounding rectangle (what percentage) should begin fading to transparent. A value of 50 (its maximum) along with a low density setting will result in the following output:
